The Mauritian Underwater Group The Oldest Scuba Diving Club in Mauritius
The Mauritius Underwater Group (fondly known as the "Mug") is a scuba diving club based in Mauritius. We are a friendly, mixed Club, with an international outlook. We are run by members, for members, on a not-for-profit basis. We welcome all people with an interest in diving, and divers from all training agencies.
We have over 160 members of all ages and skill levels and organize many dives every weekend, and occasionally during the week.
We are based in Phoenix, in the middle of the country, within easy access of all our members. Our central location allows us to dive the best dive sites around the country. We are not tied to just one area. Are members are based island wide and enjoy the convenience of having their tanks filled at our club house.
The Mauritius Underwater Group is a member of the British Sub-Aqua Club (Branch 322) and a member of the Mauritius Scuba Diving Association (MSDA). Our qualified instructors are accredited to provide scuba diving training and to award internationally recognized qualifications. Like all our members, instructors freely donate their time and skills for the benefit of the club.
Join Our Club and Come Diving
If you are already a diver and would like to explore some of the best dive sites around the island feel free to join us at our club house any Tuesday evening where you can meet other like minded divers and discover the benefits Mug membership can bring. We also run regular skill improvement courses right up to instructor level throughout the year. We have both air and nitrox compressors and the full range of equipment for members.

Learn to Dive
Even if you have never dived before you can learn with Mugs. Our team of instructors run regular courses for novice divers throughout the year. The Next Ocean Diver Course (the first rung on the ladder and suitable for all novice divers) will start soon.
